🔺 Honored. Linebacker Jaxton Eck was named the Old Trapper Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week. Eck recorded 11 tackles and had a pass breakup that led to a fourth-quarter interception in UNM territory against UCLA in a 35-10 win. The Lobo defense allowed just 10 points and 326 yards of offense to the Bruins.

🔺 National Award. Running back Damon Bankston was named to the Honorable Mention for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Player of the Week Award. Bankston tallied 203 all-purpose yards in UNM’s win over UCLA. He currently leads UNM with an average of 136.0 yards per game.

🔺 Strong Start. The men’s tennis team opened its season at the Wildcat Invitational. Tyler Waddock went 3-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles. Jakub Prachar went 3-0 in doubles with Waddock and had one singles win. The men won the doubles title. Waddock won the singles title.

🔺 1st Place! The men’s golf team finished tied for first at The Wohali. The Lobos posted an overall score of 838 (-14), tying with Arizona State. Mesa Falleur led the men with an individual score of 206 (-7), tying for third place.

🔺 Finished Strong. The volleyball team took New Mexico State into five sets for the first time since 2013. This marks UNM’s third win in a row over the Aggies since the return of the Rio Grande Rivalry. The Lobos won the first set and came back in the fourth and fifth to win the game. The women had 61 kills and four aces. Addison France led the game with 20 kills and recorded a double-double with 12 assists.
