🔺 New Staff. The women’s basketball team welcomes Lindsay Ward to the 2026-27 staff. Ward will be an assistant coach. Ward was previously an assistant coach for the past three seasons at Lindenwood. Prior to that, she coached at Benedictine University for two seasons. Makayla Wallace was hired as the director of operations and assistant coach. Wallace was the director of operations at Lindenwood this past season.

🔺 Fantastic Four. The New Mexico Lobos had four student-athletes named to the 2025 NFF Hampshire Honor Society. James Bailey, Damon Bankston, Keagan Johnson, and Shawn Miller were all honored. The NFF Hampshire Honor Society is chosen annually. It comprises college football players from all NCAA, NAIA, and sprint football divisions who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers. The program strengthens the organization’s leadership in supporting academic performance among student-athletes at colleges and universities nationwide with football programs.

🔺 Sweep! Track and field athletes Habtom Samuel and Pamela Kosgei earned Mountain West weekly honors. Samuel was named the Men’s Athlete of the Week. Kosgei was named the Women’s Athlete of the Week. It’s Kosgei’s ninth MW Athlete of the Week honor, counting cross country and indoor track. It's the 10th MW Athlete of the Week award of Samuel's career.

🔺 Shutout! The men’s tennis team beat Nevada 4-0 on Wednesday. The men won the doubles point and three singles matches. This marks the team’s seventh win this season.

🔺 Tied. The women’s golf team wrapped up the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic tied for 12th place. UNM had a final score of 888 (+24). Ava Cepeda and Chelsea Truong tied for 31st individually to lead the Lobos.
