🔺 Fast Feet. The Mountain West Conference named two cross country athletes to weekly awards. Collins Kiprotich was named the Men’s Athlete of the Week, and Marion Jepngetich was named the Women’s Freshman and Athlete of the Week. In the USTFCCCA National Polls, the men clocked in at No. 3 in the nation and the women at No. 5.

🔺 Tied Up. The women’s soccer team took on San Jose State on Thursday. The Lobos tied the Spartans 1-1. New Mexico had 35 shots, and seven were on goal. Alejandra Puerto scored at the 52-minute mark. Goalkeeper Jasmin Gonzalez-Rutt recorded two saves.

🔺 Welcome! The men’s tennis team welcomed James Hignett as the Director of the Lobo Tennis Club. Hignett is a former standout on the Lobo Tennis team. He will oversee all aspects of scheduling and work with UTSA on tournaments, lessons and all matters related to the Lobo Tennis Club.

🔺 Starting Today. The men’s tennis team sent six athletes to the Mountain West Fall Qualifier. The event starts today and runs through Monday. Four players will take part in singles, and the team will have two doubles pairings. See which men are competing here.

🔺 Set, Match. The volleyball team fell to Colorado State on Thursday. The Lobos had 26 kills in the 3-0 loss. Gioia Riccato tallied a match-high 13 kills.

🔺 Day 1. The women’s tennis team competed in day one of the Mountain West Fall Qualifiers. The team went 0-1 in doubles and 0-3 in singles.
