📈 STOCK UP

🔺 The End and Beginning. The women’s basketball team closed 2025 with a win over Wyoming. The Lobos won 62-48 on New Year’s Eve and held the Cowgirls to single digits twice. New Mexico opened 2026 with a 89-51 victory over San Jose State on Jan. 3. Five Lobos scored in double figures. Cacia Antonio and Kaia Foster led the team with 15 points each.

🔺 Holiday Games. The men’s basketball team played two games over the holiday break. The Lobos played their conference road opener against Boise State on Dec. 30, where the men fell 62-53. The men secured their 20th straight home win on Jan. 3 against Wyoming. The Lobos won 78-58 and shot 46.9% from the field. Tomislav Buljan led the team with a career-high 25 points and had 12 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season.

🔺 Fall Standings. The University of New Mexico finished the 2025-26 year as the top G6 school in the Learfield Directors’ Cup standings. They are tied for 20th in the Fall standings. The Lobos scored 90 points for their second-place finish in the men’s cross country and 80 points for their fourth-place finish in women's cross country for a total of 170 points.

🔺 Final Game. The football team faced Minnesota in the Rate Bowl on Dec. 26. The Lobos fell 20-17 in overtime and finished the season 9-4. Damon Bankston had a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown in the final quarter. This marked the longest play in Rate Bowl history. Keagan Johnson had a successful catch for two points. Overall, the Lobos had 204 total offensive yards.
