🔺  New Lobos. The men’s basketball team welcomes two new Lobos to the 2026-27 roster. Hudson Mayes is a 6’5” rising sophomore guard from UC San Diego. He was the second-leading scorer with 11.1 points per game and led the team in rebounding at 5.7 per game. Imran Suljanovic is an incoming 6’8” redshirt freshman from St. John’s. Suljanovic didn’t play his freshman season due to injury. In 2024, he led Austria to a silver medal at the FIBA U18 EuroBasket (B Division), averaging 22.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game as the tournament’s second-leading scorer. Fynn Lastring is a 6’10” incoming freshman. Last season on his club teams, he averaged 11.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while shooting 61.7 percent from 2-point range and 45.1 percent from beyond the arc.

🔺  New Staff. The women’s basketball team hired a new assistant coach. Patrick Harrison was recently a coach at Wichita State. Throughout his coaching career, Harrison has experienced success, guiding SFA to the WAC championship game, the Aggies to the College Basketball Invitational, and was 70-46 with a pair of 20-plus wins seasons at Kansas City.

🔺  Close Game. The baseball team took New Mexico State into 10 innings on Tuesday. The Lobos fell 16-15. UNM had a total of 16 hits. Antonio Gianni hit a grand slam. Akili Carris (4-for-6, 2 R, 4 RBI, 2B, 3B) and Anthony Diaz (3-for-6, 1 R, 1 RBI, 2B, 3B) both came up a homer shy of the cycle to lead the way at the plate.
