🔺 Preseason Honors. The Mountain West selected five UNM football players for the 2026 Preseason All-Mountain West Team. Jaxton Eck was named the preseason Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year, and he was one of five Lobos named to the team. Brian Booker, a second-team postseason pick last year, was named to the preseason team. On offense, versatile lineman Malik Aliane was honored along with tight end Cade Keith and transfer receiver Troy Omeire.

🔺 Scholar Athletes. The men’s tennis team was named an ITA All-Academic Team. Four players were honored as ITA Scholar Athletes: Philip Bosin, Jakub Prachar, Carl Labitzke, and Jan Skerbatis. Overall, 1,008 Division I Men’s student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 162 men’s tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
