🔼 ‘Bos Over Bows. The Lobos bounced back on the football field with a big 42-21 Homecoming win over Hawaii. New Mexico scored on their first four drives on the game. Dylan Hopkins completed three touchdown passes and Jeremiah Hixon caught two of them. QB1 set a school record for completion percentage in a game at 80%. Andrew Henry scored his first touchdown and recorded his first 100-yard game as a Lobo. Jacory Croskey-Merritt continued his dominance with two touchdowns. Jermarius Lewis was the Pueblo of Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel Star of the Game after making seven tackles, two interceptions, one sack, and a forced fumble.
🔼 Awesome Arda. Men’s tennis player Arda Azkara had a great run against solid competition at the ITA Central Regionals. He went 4-1 with two seeded wins on his way to the semifinals. He fell to the No. 6 seed from Oklahoma State in the semis. Eight Lobos went 19-9 in the main draw, four went to the Round of 16 and two went to the quarterfinals. The Lobos are off until the SMU Invitational November 3-5.
🔼 That’s A Wrap. The Lobo soccer squad tied with Wyoming in their last home game yesterday. Wyoming took a 2-0 lead but the Lobos came back strong. Natalie DeGagne got the Lobo scoring started in the second half and then set up Sophia Roberts to tie the game at 2-2. On Thursday, they’ll head to San Diego State for a chance to qualify for the Mountain West Tournament.
🐺 ONE BIG THING
Former Lobo wrestler Gary Hines has been dedicated to Lobo Athletics for years. He donated $1 million, one of the largest gifts ever to Lobo Athletics. During his time as a Lobo athlete, he was a three-year captain and a multiple-time qualifier for the NCAA Tournament.
