Lobos Brew 5/6: Basketball Announced Home-And-Home Series
The men's and women's basketball teams announced home-and-home series starting next season.
Good morning, New Mexico. The men’s basketball team made an addition to its schedule! The Lobos will have a home-and-home series over the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons against Utah State. The women’s basketball team also announced a home-and-home series. The Lobos will play BYU starting next season.

🔺 Tied at the Top. The No. 21 men’s golf team tied for first place at the Mountain West Championship. New Mexico finished with a team score of 825 (-39), tying with No.43 UNLV. Since the team’s tied, they went into a one-hole playoff that UNLV won. Johnnie Clark led the Lobos with a score of 204 (-12). He tied for fourth place individually Wyatt Provence and Thayer Plewe tied for eighth place.

🔺 Welcome! Women’s basketball head coach Amy Eagan hired Julius Armstead as the director of performance and applied science. Armstead will oversee the team’s strength and conditioning program. He spent the last three seasons with Eagan at Lindenwood. Prior to Lindenwood, he worked as an assistant strength coach at Arcadia for three years, also working men’s and women’s basketball as well as volleyball, and was a volunteer sports performance coach at Salisbury University.

🔺 New Lobos. The women’s basketball team added nine players to the 2026-27 roster. There are six guards and three forwards. In addition to the already announced Valerie Norwood, the Lobos added guards in Gracy Wernli and Kate Wernli from Bixby, Oklahoma, who will be an incoming freshman and senior, respectively, Keiara Curtis, an incoming sophomore from Seattle, Washington and an incoming freshman in Savannah Stricker from St. Louis, Missouri. Also at the guard spot, the Lobos added Katie Duncan, an incoming junior from Perth, Australia. At the forward position, the Lobos added Gracie Kelsey, an incoming senior from Agency, Missouri, Brynn Eshoo an incoming redshirt sophomore from Inverness, Illinois and Mila Reynolds, an incoming redshirt senior from South Bend, Indiana.
