🔼 Better Than The Rest. USA Today publishes its rankings of this year’s head coaching hiring cycle, and Coach Bronco Mendenhall was their No. 1 pick — he was ours too. He was named the top hire out of 18 head coach hirings. Paul Myerberg of USA Today called Mendenhall, “an absolute coup for the Lobos.” The next closest Mountain West hire was No. 7 at Boise State. 🔼 Coach Speak. Looking for plans this evening? Look no further. Tonight is Lobo Talk at Salt Yard West! Women’s basketball head coach Mike Bradbury and men’s head coach Richard Pitino will be live at Salt Yard West at 5pm. They’ve been leading successful seasons so far, with Coach Bradbury’s team at 8-3 and Coach Pitino’s team at 9-1. The men’s team will play at New Mexico State on Friday at 7pm on CBS Sports Network. The women’s team will stay home and host Western New Mexico on Sunday at 2pm.

January is comin’ up fast! Be sure to get your tickets to this year’s First Pitch Banquet on January 19th. The event will be held at the Sandia Event Center with a silent auction from 6-7pm and the program starting at 7pm. MLB Hall of Famer Goose Gossage will be the special guest! Also just announced, New Mexico alum and former MLB player Jordan Pacheco will be taking the stage for a panel discussion. He was the 2007 Mountain West Player of the Year before getting drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 2007 MLB Draft.
