Lobos Brew 6/1: Big stage

Today, the Lobos will have five football games on national television.

Good morning! It’s the first day of June, but we’re already looking ahead to September. We can’t wait for football season to start so we decided to bring you some good news!

What are we throwing into today’s Brew?

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 TV Time. Five New Mexico football games will be aired on national television this season. We’ll kick things off with a night game on ESPN against Texas A&M September 2nd at 5:00pm MT. We’ll later see Nevada, and Utah State on CBS Sports Network and Boise State and Fresno State on FOX.

🔼 Academic Excellence. Five women’s track and field athletes received CSC Academic All-District honors for the spring semester. Sarah Eckel excelled in the classroom, bringing in a 4.16 GPA. She’s joined on the list by teammates Abbe Goldstein, Gracelyn Larkin, Amelia Mazza-Downie, and Stefanie Parsons.

🔼  New Faces. Today, we’re welcoming our new assistant men’s basketball coach, Aaron Katsuma! He spent the last five seasons at Colorado State, four as the Director of Basketball Operations and one as the Director of Recruiting. He has over a decade of experience with stops at Drake and Minnesota. He spent four years under Coach Pitino in various different roles early in his career.

🐺 ONE BIG THING

First Things First. There’s a first time for everything, and men’s tennis player Alex Maggs made CSC All-America for the first time in program history! He’s a Mountain West Champion and All-Conference member. What a year!
