🔼 National Honors. Football player Austin Brawley was named to two national honors: the Bronko Nagurski Award National Defensive Player of the Week and a semifinalist for the 2026 Paycom Jim Thorpe Award. Brawley is UNM's first Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist since Brandon Payne was named a semifinalist in 2004. Brawley has allowed no touchdowns this season, and he has six in 11 career games with UNM. He also has a blocked punt for a safety, UNM's first blocked punt in nearly 17 years.

🔼 Watch Her. Women’s basketball head coach Amy Eagan was named to the 2027 Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Coach of the Year Award Preseason Watch List. She is one of the 20 coaches named to the list. Prior to being hired at UNM, Eagan has built a track record of success at the mid-major level, leading Lindenwood out of the Ohio Valley Conference to a 25-8 season in 2025-26.
