🔺 Double Feature. Football player Jaxton Eck was named to the 2026 Wuerffel Trophy Watch List and the Lombardi Award Watch List. The Lombardi Award is presented to the nation’s top linemen and linebackers from across all FBS conferences and independents. Among the members of the watch list are offensive linemen, defensive linemen, and linebackers, and Eck is one of 12 linebackers on the list. The Wuerffel Trophy is emblematic of community service and athletic excellence.

🔺 Selected. Football player Austin Brawley was named to the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Preseason Watch List. He is one of 35 players to be named on the list. The award represents the nation’s best defensive backs, spanning 10 conferences and one independent university. Brawley recorded 26 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, three pass breakups, and a team-leading three interceptions along with a forced fumble.
