Lobos Brew 6/9: Continuing The Race

Today, we're chasing an NCAA Championship.

Good morning! Summer? What summer? The grind never stops for the Lobos women’s basketball team. Check out some flicks from practice with some new faces.

What are we throwing into today’s Brew?

🏀 Coach’s point of view
🐺 And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Continuing The Race. Three Lobos are advancing to the national championship finals on Saturday! Elise Thorner and Maisie Grice both advanced in the women’s steeplechase. Abbe Goldstein placed 6th in the women’s 1500m to advance as well.

🔼  Count It Down. We’re continuing the Lobo football countdown today! There are 85 days until kick-off, so today we’re going to tell you about our No. 85, Trace Bruckler. Trace is a redshirt sophomore tight end from Frisco, Texas. He suffered an injury last season, but had a great freshman year. In 2021, he was second on the team with 15 grabs and 194 yards. He led the Lobos with three touchdown catches and scored 18 points. We’re so excited to see Trace back on the field this season.

🔼 Listen Up. Men’s basketball coach Richard Pitino met with the media earlier this week. He was joined by Jemarl Baker Jr. and Quinton Webb to talk about the upcoming season. You can listen to each of their press conferences by clicking here.

🐺 ONE BIG THING

Your Honor. The Lobos record-breaking 4×400 relay squad of Victor Akhalu, Jevon O’Bryant, Jovahn Williamson, and Brodie Young earned honorable mention All-America recognition. The crew ran a 3:06.4 in their NCAA Outdoor Championship performance.
