🔼 Mic’d Up With A-Rod. He’s a punter, he’s a holder, he’s a hype man, he’s on the Ray Guy Award watch list, he’s Aaron Rodriguez — and we have him mic’d up! He’s one of the best punters in college football, leading the nation in total punts. He’s also third on the career average list at New Mexico with 43.5 yards. Last season, he was a Second Team All-Mountain West pick. In Saturday’s scrimmage, Aaron was regularly hitting punts over 65 yards.

🔼 Do Yo Thing, 21. Senior running back Dorian Lewis is expected to make waves this season. This will be his first year as a Lobo, he spent the last three seasons at Coffeyville Community College. He’ll have two years of eligibility at New Mexico. Dorian went to Cleveland High School and was named the New Mexico Gatorade Player of the Year his 11th-grade season.

🔼 Tailgate Time. The UNM Houston Alumni Chapter is hosting a tailgate party in College Station, Texas! Dust off those jerseys and Lobo gear for the first football game of the season at Texas A&M with fellow Lobo alumni. Bring your chairs and coolers, eat some New Mexican-style green chile cheeseburgers, and cheer on the ‘Bos. Click here to RSVP, registration deadline is August 30.

🔼 Amateur Hour. Two Lobos tee’d off at the 123rd U.S. Amateur in Colorado yesterday! Bastien Amat and Carson Herron will be playing in the tournament August 14 - August 20. We talked about these two last week when they were named GCAA All-America Scholars. Bastien will be a senior and Carson will be a junior this upcoming season as they chase another trip to the NCAA Championship.

New & Improved. We’re introducing the redesigned Lobo Sports App, presented by Nusenda! The app was designed in partnership with WMT to bring fans new features and an improved experience. Fans will access mobile ticketing, the Lobo Den Store, live audio from the Lobo Sports Network, schedules, news, stats, and all the information they may need. The app is available to download for free on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. If you have the old Lobo Sports App, you will need to delete that version and download the new.
