Good morning! It was a busy weekend in New Mexico athletics, and we’re here to catch you up on this Monday morning.

What else is steeping in today’s Brew?

🎾 Double-header, double wins
⚾️ Back in the win column
🐺 And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Double The Fun. Two matches, two shutouts — that’s what Saturday had in store for the men’s tennis team! The Lobos hosted Air Force and New Mexico State and won 7-0 and 4-0, respectively. Eight of the Lobos’ nine active players won a singles match through the dominating day. Up next, the Lobos will host Boise State on Saturday for Senior Day when Ryoma Matsushita, Rafael Abdulsalam, and Alex Maggs play their last home matches at New Mexico Lobos.

🔼 One Win Away. The women’s tennis team continues to chase that Mountain West Championship by battling each week. The Lobos needed four singles wins to defeat Wyoming after losing the doubles point, and the mission was accomplished. Hsuan Huang secured the match on Senior Day after close to a four-hour marathon as the Lobos took down Wyoming, 4-3. New Mexico sits 18-2 overall and 7-1 in conference play. A win on Friday would clinch at least a share of the conference title.

🔼  Back On Top. Lobo baseball got back in the win column, snapping an eight-game losing streak, after defeating Fresno State 6-2 yesterday. The Bulldogs currently lead the Mountain West. David Lopez and Wil Bannister had excellent outings on the mound, holding Fresno State to just four hits. Bannister only allowed one hit and zero runs scored through 5.1 innings of relief throughout the weekend. Bash brothers Jake Holland and Reed Spenrath hit home runs in the win. They’ll play CSU Pueblo tomorrow at home.

🔼  Regular Season Finale. The No. 19 men’s golf team finished the regular season at the ASU Thunderbird Collegiate in sixth-place as a team. They tied with Utah State at 7-under in an elite field. Bastien Amat led the Lobos at fifth individually, his fifth top-five finish of the season. They’ll have a two week break before the Mountain West Championship begins on April 26.

🔼 Best In The West. After Habtom Samuel broke the facility and Bryan Clay Invitational record in the 5,000m, New Mexico athletes have the three fastest men’s and women’s 5K times in the Mountain West. His 13:13.34 time put him in the top 10 in the event in NCAA history. He finished second in the race and Evans Kiplagat finished 22nd. Alyssa Gregory recorded a PR of 4.02m in the pole vault, finishing third in her section. Elizabeth White finished fourth in the women’s long jump. Dylan Burrows finished fifth in the men’s 800m at the Beach Invitational.
