🔺 Double the Honors. The football team had two players earn preseason honors. Jaxton Eck was named to the Bronco Nagurski Preseason Watch List for Defensive Player of the Year. Brian Booker was named to the Outland Trophy Watch List for the top interior lineman in the nation. Eck is the first Lobo to be named to the preseason Nagurski list since 2010. Booker helped New Mexico allow just 112.8 rushing yards per game, ranking among the top 40 rushing defenses in the FBS.

🔺 Update! The football game on Sept. 12 against Mercyhurst and the Oct. 3 game against UTEP will both kick off at 2 pm MT. The home games will be streamed on MW+.

🔺 New Staff. The cross country and track and field staff hired Dustyn McKenney and Kelli Blake as assistant coaches for the distance runners. McKenney was a volunteer for New Mexico last season. Blake spent five seasons as the head coach at Caltech. McKenney and Blake will assist with New Mexico’s distance runners across the cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field seasons.
