📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Finishing Touch. Lobo freshman Habtom Samuel finished his remarkable rookie season with a sixth-place finish in the men’s 5000m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. His finish earned him his fifth First Team All-American honor of the year. His scoring tied the Lobos for 23rd in the final men’s team score. He’s the first man to earn First Team All-America in two different events at both Indoor and Outdoor National Championships.

🔼 Lobo Debut. New Lobo Pamela Kosgei competed at the non-NCAA Portland Track Festival over the weekend. It was her first race in a Lobo uniform and she finished the 3K steeplechase in second-place! She recorded a personal-best 9:28.88 time, which is 4.47s shy of New Mexico’s program record. That time would rank third in the nation in DI track & field this season.

🔼 Meet Mesa. The Lobo men’s golf team has signed Mesa Falleur! The Muskogee, Oklahoma native played at Kansas City last season. He was the Summit League individual champion and Player of the Year. He finished the NCAA Austin Regional in eighth-place. Off the golf course, he held a 4.0 GPA.

🐺 ONE BIG THING

The proof is right here, it was truly the year of Habtom Samuel. He’s not done yet, Lobo fans will see him in Paris this summer! He’ll represent Eritrea in the 2024 Olympics.
