🔼  Five On It. The Mountain West’s 25th Season Football Team was announced yesterday and it included five Lobo greats! Ryan Cook, DonTrell Moore, Brian Urlacher, John Sullivan, and Carlos Wiggins all made the team to honor the conference’s anniversary.

• Ryan Cook was a three-time First Team All-Mountain West o-lineman who went on to have an eight-year NFL career. He was drafted in the second-round of the NFL Draft to the Minnesota Vikings.

• DonTrell Moore wrote records in the conference. He’s the only Lobo to rush for 1,000 yards in all four of his seasons. He holds five New Mexico records to this day.

• Brian Urlacher was a two-time All-American and a Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year. He was drafted ninth overall by the Chicago Bears, where he spent 13 years, in the 2000 NFL Draft. His success led him into the NFF/College Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

• John Sullivan had one of the best college kicking seasons ever in 2007. He was a consensus All-American and a Groza Award finalist. He set school and conference records.

• Carlos Wiggins was an all-time great kickoff return specialist. He had five touchdowns and averaged 27.9 yards. He’s the only Lobo to record at least four career touchdowns in three different ways. He was also named the Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Year in 2013.

🔼 Pack The Pit. The Rio Grande Rivalry is next on the slate for the men’s and women’s basketball teams. The Lobos will host New Mexico State tomorrow, the women will play at 1pm and the men at 7pm. There will be lowriders in front of The Pit, Lobo spirit shakers for the first 2,000 fans at the women’s game, free hot air balloon rides for students from 4-6pm, rally towels at the men’s game, and much more. You will not want to miss out, but if you do, you can watch on the Mountain West Network.
