🔺 Staff Updates. The football team named Ryan McNamee as the Chief of Staff. This is a newly created position that is responsible for overseeing all internal operations and handling many back-of-house details for the program, and will also serve as the external conduit to the campus and administration. McNamee will oversee all operations, travel, and logistics, and serve as a liaison for football equipment operations and creative efforts.
🔺 Scholar Honor. Track and field athlete Habtom Samuel was named the USTFCCCA XC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Samuel posted a 3.33 GPA during the fall semester in Liberal Arts & Integrative Studies. Jasmine Wood and Alice Seguin earned All-Academic individual honors. The men’s team had a 3.09 GPA, and the women had a 3.61 GPA.
🔺 Smart Lobos. The University of New Mexico student-athletes recorded a 3.68 GPA program record. This broke the previous record of 3.55 set in the Fall of 2024. Seven programs set records in their sports, with football and men’s basketball leading the way. Every team in the department achieved at least a 3.0 for just the second time in program history.
