Good morning, New Mexico. FOOTBALL IS RANKED!! The Lobos earn their first-ever AP ranking at No. 22 and No. 25 in the AFCA Coaches Poll.

What else is Brewin’ today?

🏀 Season opener win
🏈 Defensive POTW
🐺 And more!

🔼 Victory! The men’s basketball team won its season opener against Utah Tech 100 -60. Jake Hall led the team with 30 points. He is the eighth Lobo to ever score 30 in a season opener. Uriah Tenette followed with 19 points. The Lobos shot 58.3% from the field and 44% from behind the arc.

🔼 Defense! Football player Darren Agu was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Agu led a Lobo defense that allowed just 238 yards, and only 48 rushing yards, in a 21-16 win over San Jose State, UNM's first win in San Jose since 1969. Overall, he had six tackles (four solo), 3.0 TFLs for 20 yards, 2.0 sacks for 15 yards, and a hurry.

🔼 Elevated Partnership. Two of Albuquerque’s most iconic brands, University of New Mexico Athletics and the Nusenda Credit Union, announced an extension of their groundbreaking partnership to include a uniform patch that will be worn by the Lobos’ 2026-27 winter and spring sports teams. Under new legislation adopted by the NCAA membership earlier this year, athletics programs may now place up to two commercial logos on uniforms/apparel during the regular season, as long as each patch is no larger than 4 square inches.
