🔼 Grand Finale. Lobo softball finished the season taking home two Mountain West weekly honors! Amber Linton was named Pitcher of the Week after her final collegiate games. She pitched all nine innings in Thursday night’s win, throwing 173 pitches and seven scoreless innings. She finished the weekend with 14.1 innings pitched, making appearances in all three games. She moved into fourth all-time in career strikeouts in the Lobo record book. The senior becomes the first Lobo to win the honor this season.

🔼 Walk-Off Warrior. Lobo softball’s DeNae Vasquez-Dickson was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week. She led the Lobos with a .455 batting average over the weekend. She mashed the walk-off hit in extra innings on Thursday to beat Fresno State. She was 5-6 in successfully advancing runners through all three games. This is the third Freshman of the Week honor for the Lobos this season.

🔼 Starting Strong. Lobo women’s golfer Myah McDonald finished round one of the Las Vegas Regional tied for sixth-place at 1-under. Lauren Lehigh finished the day tied for 13th after shooting even par. The top individual who isn’t on an advancing team at the regional will advance to the NCAA Championships, and today that person would’ve been Myah. They’ll continue play today with round two.

🐺 ONE BIG THING

Great Brodie. Lobo track & field’s Brodie Young punched his ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics with Great Britain! He’ll race in the mixed 4×400m relay squad with Team GB. Brodie helped them score the qualifying bid at the World Athletics Relays over the weekend. He’ll join teammate Habtom Samuel and Lobo alum Calli Thackery who have already secured Olympic Qualifying times.
