📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Multiple Wins. Track and field athlete Habtom Samuel won his third NCAA Individual title. He won the men’s 5,000m finals on day one of the NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday. He is the first man from New Mexico to win at NCAA Indoors since 2018. On day two, three athletes picked up First Team All-America honors with podium finishes. Pamela Kosgei and Marion Jepngetich went 2-3 in the women’s 3,000m and Matthew Endrödy finished sixth in the men’s mile.

🔺 Comeback Victory. The women’s tennis team had a wild comeback victory over Nevada on Sunday. The Lobos were down 3-0 and ended up winning 4-3. New Mexico won one doubles match and four singles matches to secure the win. The victory moved UNM to 10-5 overall and 1-1 in Mountain West play, while Nevada dropped to 4-7 overall and 0-2.

🔺 On the Diamond. The baseball team fell to San Jose State 1-0 in extra innings on Friday, but came back to beat them 8-7 on Saturday. The Lobos had 13 hits. Ryan Castillo earned the win on the mound, improving 4-1 this season. The men fell in the final game of the series 3-0.

🔺 Wrapped Up. The men’s basketball team finished the Mountain West Tournament with a loss to San Diego State in the semifinals. The Lobos fell 64-62 on Friday. Deyton Albury led the Lobos with 20 points, his fourth 20-point game of the season. The Lobos will now await the announcement of any potential postseason play.
