🔼 Let’s Talk. Men’s basketball coach Richard Pitino met with the media yesterday to recap the first exhibition game and look ahead. Last week, they defeated CSU Pueblo, 83-65. The team has two days of practice and another exhibition meeting. They’ll host New Mexico Highlands tomorrow night in The Pit at 7pm. Tune in to Coach Pitino’s press conference!
🔼 Celebrating The Best. The 2023 UNM Hall of Honor awards dinner will be held this Thursday at 7pm at the Events Center at Sandia Golf Club. Tickets are $60 and you can purchase by calling the Lobo Club at 505-925-2582.
Lobos being inducted include Danny Granger, Matthieu Amgwerd, Andy Boyens, Michael Putnam, and Bernard “Bernie” Rivers. Tom Daulton will be inducted as the 2023 Distinguished Service Award winner. Jill Trujillo will be honored for receiving 2022-23 Women’s Golf Coach of the Year honors along with Co-Female Athletes of the Year Jadyn Edwards and Amelia Mazza-Downie, and Male Athlete of the Year Arda Azkara.
🔼 The Goose Is Loose. MLB Hall of Famer Goose Gossage will be the special guest at the First Pitch Banquet! He was a pioneer of the “closer” role on the mound and led the American League in saves three times throughout his career. The First Pitch Banquet will be held January 19, 2024 at the Sandia Event Center. There will be a silent auction from 6pm-7pm and the program will begin at 7pm. 🐺 ONE BIG THING
Private Practice. This Friday, Lobo Club members are invited to a private men’s basketball practice and there will be a reception afterwards with food and drink! Practice will take place from 3:30-5:30pm. If you aren’t a member of the Lobo Club, join today!
