Good morning! Welcome back to reality! The long weekend is over and we’re back to business. Luckily, a long weekend means a short work week ahead, and this week is full of New Mexico athletics.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Host With The Most Wins. The Lobos became the champions of the Lobo Volleyball Invitational with wins over Cal State Bakersfield and St. Johns. They dropped their last game against Utah Tech, but won more sets than any other team in the field. Kaitlynn Biassou and Athina Dimitriadis earned All-Tournament honors. Kaitlynn recorded 33 kills, 26 digs, and 8 aces while Athina had 23 kills, 9 blocks, and 5 digs.

🔜  Up next: the Lobos travel to North Dakota for the UND Classic.

🔼 Solid Start. The Lobo cross country teams started the 2023 season over the weekend at the Lori Fitzgerald Open in Las Cruces. The Lobo men finished in second and the women finished fourth. The men tied with New Mexico JC in the tally, but dropped the tie-breaker. They’ll be racing again when they host the Lobo Invitational on Saturday.

🔼 In The Booth. Lobo defensive back Tavian Combs can do it all. This weekend, he played in his first game back from ACL surgery and looked great. He recorded 11 tackles, one pass break-up, and blocked a field goal. But he’s been doing more than just playing football — he’s been a color analyst for some local high school football games!
