🔼  Made A Dent. Lobo men’s basketball player Donovan Dent was named the Mountain West Player of the Week! He posted consecutive 20-point games for the first time in his career last week. He scored 23 against UC Santa Barbara and 22 points against Santa Clara. He added eight assists against UCSB and saw a career-high six rebounds and three steals over Santa Clara. This is the first Player of the Week honor of his career.

🔼  Deja Vu. The Lobos swept the conference honors this week. JT Toppin received another Mountain West Freshman of the Week honor! This is his third of the year and the fourth-straight for the Lobos. He averaged 14.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game last week, while shooting 76% from the floor. He scored his first two three-balls of the season against UCSB and had 18 points. Against Santa Clara, he had 11 points and six rebounds. The guys will be back on the court at New Mexico State on Friday at 7pm.

🐺 ONE BIG THING

Former Lobo hurdler Dr. Kwane Stewart was voted CNN 2023 Hero of the Year by the general public! He provides veterinary services to those experiencing homelessness through Project Street Vet. Dr. Stewart was a hurdler for New Mexico from 1989-93. After he earned his veterinary degree from Colorado State, he founded Project Street Vet. His nonprofit also helps with finding financial aid for pet owners to fund treatment and hosts free pet clinics where owners can receive essential supplies and minor care.
