🔼 Jam Sesh. Rising senior Nelly Junior Joseph is representing Team Africa this weekend at the 2023 GLOBL JAM in Canada. This is a world-class international basketball showcase. Nelly and Team Africa will get things started tomorrow night at 6:00pm MT against Team Canada. Team Africa will play Team USA on July 15 at 11:30am MT, which will be live on CBS Sports Network.

Nelly will be making his Lobo debut this season as he transferred to New Mexico from Iona. He received two first-team All-MAAC selections and was MAAC Rookie of the Year as a freshman. He won two regular season and tournament conference titles.

🔼 For The Win. There are just 53 days until New Mexico kicks off at Texas A&M, so today we’re looking back at the longest walk-off game-winning field goal of the 2017 football season. Lobo great Jason Sanders made a 53-yard field goal with three seconds on the board to put New Mexico ahead of Tulsa, 16-13. Jason Sanders went on to be the career field goal percentage leader in the history of the Miami Dolphins, after he was drafted in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He has even caught a touchdown pass in the NFL!

Staying True. New head Lobo Darren Gauson is sticking with what he knows works for his track & field and cross country teams, he has just hired Brian Maty as his assistant coach. They spent the last two years together at Bradley University, where they achieved great success. They swept the Missouri Valley Conference titles in both men’s and women’s cross country. In Coach Maty’s first season at Bradley, runners claimed nine conference track titles. Before Bradley, he was a graduate assistant at Eastern Illinois, where he helped coach even more conference titles.
