📈 STOCK UP
🔺 Upset Alert. The men’s basketball team took down No. 22 UCLA 72-64 in the Las Vegas Hoopfest on Friday night! It was the first non-conference ranked win in 12 years for the Lobos. The last ranked non-con win was at No. 8 Cincinnati, then coached by current UCLA coach Mick Cronin. Donovan Dent led the team with 17 points and added eight assists. Nelly Junior Joseph recorded his 45th career double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. CJ Noland had his first double-digit game as a Lobo with 13 points. Lee’s Family Forum remains ‘The Pit West’ as the Lobos improve their record to 5-0 there.
🔺 Shine Bright. Lobo football also had a successful Friday night on the road! They defeated San Diego State 21-16. The defense was strong in San Diego as they stayed alive for bowl eligibility. Randolph Kpai had 15 tackles, two pass breakups, a sack, a tackle for loss, and a quarterback hurry. Devon Dampier threw for 175 yards and a touchdown, plus rushed for 127 yards. Eli Sanders scored two long touchdowns, rushing for 174 yards. Ryan Davis caught the go-ahead score with one hand in the end zone. This is the first time the Lobos have won three road games since 2014.
🔺 Tables Turned. Lobo volleyball snapped a four-match losing streak to Utah State in a five-set thriller on Saturday. The Lobos took the momentum late in the fourth set and dominated to complete a 2-0 weekend of conference play. They’ll return to the court tomorrow to host Air Force in the Mountain West’s Tuesday Night Block Party at 6:30 p.m.
