🔺 Shock The World. Lobo football shook up the world of college football by upsetting No. 19 Washington State, 38-35. Down 28-14 at halftime, the Lobo defense came out ready to shut down the Cougars, and that’s exactly what they did. Devon Dampier finished the game with four total touchdowns, including one that gave the Lobos the lead with 23 seconds left. Eli Sanders and Caleb Medford scored a touchdown each. The Lobos pounded the rock, compiling 360 rushing yards. The win marks the fifth of the year, the most since 2016. It was the first non-conference top-20 win since 1940.

🔺 Lobos On Broadway. The men’s basketball team suffered their first loss of the season in the battle of the Pitino’s. They fell to No. 22 St. John’s 85-71 on Sunday inside Madison Square Garden. Mustapha Amzil and Nelly Junior Joseph scored 16 points each. CJ Noland has a season-high 15 points off the bench. The Lobos return home to host Grambling State on Thursday.

🔺 Tickets Punched. Both Lobo cross country teams booked their trip to the NCAA Championships! The 10th-ranked women’s team received an at-large selection after finishing the Mountain Regional in third-place. Pamela Kosgei won the individual title. The No. 6 men’s team secured an automatic bid after finishing the Mountain Regional in second. The NCAA Championships will take place on Saturday.

🔺 Friday Feelin’. The women’s basketball team picked up a big 85-56 win over WNMU on Friday. Four Lobos scored in double figures — Destinee Hooks, Hulda Joaquim, Alyssa Hargrove, and Viané Cumber. The Lobo bench scored 18 points in the fourth quarter. They’ll host South Carolina State on Wednesday.
