🔺 Eck Yeah. New Mexico has hired its newest head football coach, Jason Eck! He has led the University of Idaho football program to a national ranking and FCS playoff appearances in all three of his seasons there. In the 22 years prior to his arrival, the Vandals totaled just two winning seasons. He spent his college days at the University of Wisconsin, winning the 1998 Big Ten Championship. He and his wife Kimberly have five children.

🔺 Light ‘Em Up. The men’s basketball team got an eye-catching 122-70 win over Western New Mexico on Saturday! It was the Lobos’ largest margin of victory in six years and the most points scored in seven. Freshman Jovan Milicevic led the game with 21 points off the bench. Braden Appelhans scored a career-high 18 points. The Lobos went on a 22-0 run in the second half. They’ll conclude the non-conference schedule on Wednesday, hosting VCU.

🔺 Wave Goodbye. The women’s basketball team defeated Pepperdine 82-59 on Sunday. The Lobos outscored the Waves 24-7 in the second quarter. Hulda Joaquim and Destinee Hooks scored 14 points each. Viané Cumber and Amhyia Moreland also mirrored each other with 12 points a piece. They’ll play Sacramento State to open the Lobo Invitational on Thursday.
