🏆 Sweeping honors
🏈 Diving into the new chapter
🐺 And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼  Swift Sweep. Lobos swept the men’s and women’s Mountain West weekly track awards after the UNM Spring Invitational! Mercy Kirarei and Evans Kiplagat both took home Athlete and Freshman of the week honors after they ran lifetime PR’s and won the 1,500m events. Mercy ran the fifth-fastest time in the country and the best in the Mountain West. Evans finished with the No. 8 time in the nation, which is also the best in the conference. The team will split between three different meets this weekend.

🔼 Silver Secured. The No. 19 men’s golf team went neck-and-neck with LSU on the final day of the Hootie at Bulls Bay, but finished six strokes behind in second-place at 9-under. Matthew Watkins led the Lobos tied in fourth-place individually, Carson Herron tied for ninth. This is the Lobos’ sixth top-three finish this season, and second-straight runner-up finish.

🔼 Rachael Goes Yard. Lobo softball was led by Rachael Hathoot in yesterday’s doubleheader at New Mexico State. She went 2-for-3 in game one and 2-for-4 in game two with a homer. Mountain West Freshman of the Week McKenna Guest was in the circle for 6.2 of the 10.2 innings yesterday. The Lobos lost both games, 9-1 and 8-4.

🔼 New Chapter. “It’s the start of somethin’ new!” 🎶 The Bronco Mendenhall era has begun! The Lobos just finished the strength and conditioning portion of the offseason, and now they’re all in for spring practice. Coach Mendenhall believes that everything is earned, and nothing is given — which explains the plain white shirts during workouts. His guiding principles are not new to his staff and they know how to implement them into a successful program. These principles fall under the theme of “Family: First, Last, Always.” Read his principles and more about the future of Lobo football!
