🔺 World’s Fastest. Track & field’s Matthew Kosgei has been named the Mountain West Men’s Freshman & Athlete of the Week! He ran the fastest steeple time in the world at Stanford on Friday. He ran the race in 8:22.13, breaking a Lobo program record that had stood since 1977.

🔺 Seeing Double. No, you’re not re-reading the story above - it’s true! Track & field’s Pamela Kosgei has been named the Mountain West Women’s Freshman & Athlete of the Week! She was also named the USTFCCCA Co-National Athlete of the Week for the second time in her career. She ran the fastest steeple time in the world at Stanford on Friday. Her time was 9:15.93.

🔺 Run-Ruled Red Raiders. Try saying that three times fast. Lobo baseball run-ruled Texas Tech 15-5 in just eight innings. Tye Wood reached base six times, going 3-for-3 with three walks, four runs scored, and three RBI. Cristian Mogen earned his first win of the season after returning from Tommy John surgery. The Lobos will host Washington State this weekend.
