🔺 Break Out The Brooms. Lobo women’s distance star Pamela Kosgei won the 5,000m final, completing only the fifth women’s 5K/10K sweep in NCAA history! Teammate Marion Jepngetich finished fourth behind her. The women’s track & field team placed ninth with 25 points at the NCAA Championships.

🔺 Making History. The Lobo men’s track & field team finished fifth overall at the NCAA Championships with 31 points, the highest in program history. The fifth-place finish matches their best in history. Mathew Kosgei placed sixth in the steeplechase, earning All-America honors. Habtom Samuel placed second in the 5K, while Ishmael Kipkurui finished seventh. Samuel finished the week as the highest-scoring men’s individual in the nation.

Combined, the Lobo teams finished with eight First Team All-America trophies and three individual titles.

 🔺 Classroom Champions. Lobo student-athletes turned in a 3.54 overall GPA for the spring semester! Lobo football turned in a record-setting 3.36 GPA. Female student-athletes combined for a non-COVID record 3.72 GPA.
