🔺 A New Role. New Mexico announced Gabriella Rivera as the university’s new spirit coordinator and head coach for the cheer, dance, and mascot programs! Rivera previously worked as the coed cheer team coach for the past five seasons after spending four years on the coed cheer team as a student at UNM.

“This program has shaped so much of who I am — as both an athlete, coach, and a person — and it holds a truly special place in my heart. It’s a privilege to give back to the university,” Rivera said.

🔺 Track Stars. Our Lobos are doing big things on the international stage! UNM Track & Field star Brodie Young finished in third place with a bronze medal after setting a personal best with a time of 45.34 in the men’s 400m.

Meanwhile, fellow Lobo Rebecca Grieve continued to shine, this time overseas at the U23 Euro Championships. Grieve posted a 52.59 in the women’s 400m final, finishing eighth overall in the event.

🔺 Giving Back. We’ll never tire of seeing our Lobos give back to the community. UNM women’s basketball spent a recent morning meeting some incredible children at the UNM Hospital.
