🔺 State Champs. New Mexico football’s first win was an important one! The Lobos went south to Las Cruces for the Rio Grande Rivalry at New Mexico State and came home with a 50-40 win. The Lobo running game was unstoppable as Devon Dampier and NaQuari Rogers rushed for three touchdowns each, while Javen Jacobs scored one. The Lobos compiled 579 total yards of offense. The offensive line didn’t allow a sack for the fifth straight game.

🔺 Wrangled The Trophy. The cross country teams raced in the OSU Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday. The No. 21 women’s team claimed the team championship! Pamela Kosgei took the individual title in her collegiate debut. Natalie Bitetti finished fourth, Klara Dess finished sixth, and Mercy Kirarei finished eighth.

The No. 8 men’s team earned a second-place finish with 45 points. Habtom Samuel finished as runner-up in his first collegiate race since winning the NCAA title. Vincent Chirchir finished in ninth.

🔺 To The Wire. Lobo volleyball picked up their first conference win of the season on Saturday! They took San Diego State to five sets and went on a 9-0 run to close it out. Lauryn Payne recorded a career-high 23 kills, while Jada Bouyer recorded a season-high 17 kills. The Lobos will play Air Force on the road tomorrow.

🔺 Tip Of The Hat. Lobo soccer had a fun Sunday, defeating Nevada 5-2! Presley Devey continued her dominant season by scoring a hat trick; she had scored two goals in the first 5:59. She became the first Lobo to record a hat trick since 2022. Nicole Anderson added on by recording her first brace with two goals. This was the first time the Lobos had two multiple-goal scorers since 2008. They’ll return to the pitch on Thursday at Boise State.
