Good morning! It was a jam packed weekend in Lobo Land, and Lobo teams are coming home with some wins! Let’s recap.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Bringing Home Hardware. The men’s golf team handled business in Hawaii over the weekend. Bastien Amat picked up his second win of the season at the John Burns Intercollegiate. He finished 13-under with a five-shot difference between him and second-place. The Lobos finished in third-place at 10-under.

🔼  If There’s A Will, There’s A Way. The women’s tennis team improved to 6-0 on the season, but it wasn’t easy. Katherine Jhang was the name of the match. She suffered a thigh injury in her opening set of singles, but pushed through to a three-set win to give the Lobos the win over Northern Arizona. She and Leonie Hoppe helped secure the doubles point early on. Their 6-0 start is the best for the Lobos since 1998.

🔼 Major Key. The Lobos picked up a couple of wins at the ACU Tournament over the weekend! Keyannah Chavez finished Sunday 4-4 with a double, triple, walk, and an RBI. She finished the day with a 1.750 slugging percentage. McKenna Guest pitched in both games on Sunday, earning a save in the win over Marist and pitching a complete game against Abilene Christian. The Lobos beat Marist twice in the tournament. They’ll return to Texas for the UNT Invite on Friday.

🔼 Still Swingin’. The Lobo baseball team’s opening weekend extends through today, but let’s see what’s happened so far! The Lobos dropped their season opener to No. 7 Oregon State, but put up a fight in the 15-6 loss where they scored five runs in the eighth inning. The Lobos bounced back on Saturday with a 4-3 win over CSU Bakersfield. Will Asby had a two-homer night where he brought in three of the four runs. On Sunday, they dropped a game against Minnesota. They’ll play CSU Bakersfield again today at 2 pm on FloBaseball.
