🔺 Stat Check. The women’s basketball team beat San Jose State 66-61 on Wednesday. Laila Abdurraqib led with a game-high 19 points. Joana Magalhães and Destinee Hooks each scored 12 points. The team shot 34.3% from the field.

🔺 Series Sweep. The men’s basketball team beat Grand Canyon on Wednesday, completing a season series sweep over the Lopes. The Lobos won 70-64, shot 47.1% from the field and 56.25% from deep. Jake Hall led the team with 23 points. Tomislav Buljan had 12 points and a team-high nine rebounds.

🔺 Leader. Football head coach Jason Eck leads a group of six coaches named to the Board of Trustees of the American Football Coaches Association. Eck will represent the Mountain West Conference. The Board formulates policy and provides direction for the AFCA, which was founded in 1922 by Amos Alonzo Stagg, John Heisman, and others.

🔺 Triple Threat. The track and field team had three athletes earn Mountain West weekly honors. Brodie Young earned Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. Rebecca Grieve was named the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. Eva Ngom was selected the Women’s Freshman of the Week.

🔺 Round One. The men’s golf team is tied for fourth place after round one of the John A. Burns Invitational. The Lobos have a team score of 281 (+1). Mason Snyder leads New Mexico with a score of 68 (-2). He is in sixth place overall.
