Lobos Brew 10/31: MBB Wins Preseason Finale

The men's basketball team beat NAU in its preseason finale game.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Sweep! The volleyball team swept Nevada 3-0 on Thursday. Lauryn Payne led the team with 13 kills. Addison France was right behind with 10 kills. The Lobos hit a season-best .368 average. New Mexico improves to 21-4 all-time against the Wolf Pack.

🔺 Preseason Finale. The men’s basketball team won its final preseason game against NAU 64-54. Antonio Chol led the team with 20 points. Jake Hall was the only other Lobo in double digits with 12 points. New Mexico shot 41.7% from the field and 37.5% behind the arc. The Lobos never trailed and played 10 of the 11 players who saw action scored.

🔺 Championship Time. The cross country team heads to the Mountain West Conference Championships today! UNM is the reigning conference champions and preseason favorites. The men’s 8k race is set for 10am MT and women will race the 6k at 10:45am.

🔺 Next Up. The football team takes on UNLV on Saturday. If the Lobos win, they will become bowl eligible for the first time since 2016. UNM is 5-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play. The Rebels are 6-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
