📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Tourney Recap. The softball team wrapped up the Mountain West Tournament on Saturday. The Lobos shutout UNLV 5-0 on Friday in an elimination game. Caitlin Benningfield delivered a complete-game shutout against the Rebels, the first shutout of the 2026 MW Championship and the first Lobo shutout in the MW Championship since 2004. Melanie Macias led the Lobos with four RBI on the day, one of three Lobos to hit a home run, and led with three hits. The women then fell to Grand Canyon 11-7 on Saturday. Estrella Rowe and Macias led the Lobos with two hits each with Macias finishing the game with a team-high three RBIs.

🔺 Top Lobos. Two Lobos were named to the Softball Mountain West All-Tournament Team. Caitlin Benningfield and Jessica DeLeon were selected. The women recorded their best finish in the Mountain West Championship for a UNM team since 2001 and the 28 wins on the season the most wins by a Lobo team since 2015. There were five Lobos named to All-Mountain West honors. New Mexico had two players named to the first team and three earn honorable mention and marks the most Lobos selected to the MW all-conference teams in program history.

🔺 Regional Ready. The men’s golf team will compete in the NCAA Bryan Regional. The tournament will be held May 18-20 at the Traditions Golf Course on the campus of Texas A&M. The Lobos are making their 33rd NCAA Regional appearance since the format was adopted in 1989, having advanced to the NCAA Championships 21 times. UNM is one of only 12 programs to advance from regionals to nationals in each of the past three seasons, and the only non-power conference team among those 12.
