🔺  Top Athletes. The Mountain West announced the 2025-26 Athletes of the Year. Pamela Kosgei was named the Female Athlete of the Year. Habtom Samuel was named the Male Athlete of the Year. This marks the first time in league history that the male and female athletes of the year were both from the same school, and the second consecutive year that Kosgei was the Female Athlete of the Year. Samuel won four national titles and Kosgei finished as national runner-up three times.

🔺  Academic Honors. For the second year in a row, and for the 10^th time in the last 14 years, The University of New Mexico has led the Mountain West in All-Academic selections with 245 honorees as the league announced its winter and spring All-Academic lists. The Lobos also led the way in winter and spring totals, with 149 honorees. Baseball (25), men’s golf (6) and women’s tennis (9) all led their respective sports in the conference, with softball (17) finishing second.
