Good morning! It’s Lobo Club Thank You Week! Check out all of the fun things going on this week:

What else is steeping in today’s Brew?

🥎 Freshman of the Week
🏀 Meet the newest Lobo
🐺 And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼  She’s Unstoppable. Lobo softball’s Katherine Brunner was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week! She had a smashing weekend, leading the team with a .636 batting average and a .615 on-base percentage. She also recorded team-high’s of seven hits and drove in five runs in the Lobos’ sweeping weekend. Katherine is the second Lobo to win the award this season, joining McKenna Guest.

🔼  One Last Time. The final Mountain West Women’s Tennis Player of the Week honor goes to our very own Katherine Jhang! She picked up two wins in New Mexico’s Mountain West title-winning match at Air Force over the weekend. She and Leonie Hoppe clinched the doubles point, then went on to win her singles match at No. 1. This is her second honor of the season.

🔼 Meet The Newest Lobo. We’re introducing you to newest Lobo men’s basketball signee, CJ Noland! He’s a 6’4 215-pound transfer guard from North Texas with one year of eligibility remaining. Before North Texas, he played two seasons at Oklahoma. Last season, he averaged 10.9 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. He was the Mean Green’s second leading scorer in conference play in the American Athletic Conference. As a freshman at Oklahoma, he made the All-Big 12 Freshman Team.

“He has the size and skill at the guard spot that we were looking for. He is tough, versatile, competitive, and a winner. CJ will be a valuable addition to our team from day one.”

Coach Richard Pitino

🔼 Reaching For Revenge. Lobo baseball is headed to west Texas to take on Texas Tech for the second time this season. The Lobos are looking for revenge for their 11-8 loss to the Red Raiders in March. Texas Tech is coming off of a three-game sweep of No. 22 West Virginia and they hold a home record of 21-3. For the Lobos, Jake Holland leads the Mountain West with 13 home runs, an .882 slugging percentage, and a .391 batting average. Reed Spenrath leads the league with four triples, while Khalil Walker and Tye Wood lead in on-base percentages. First pitch is at 1 pm on ESPN+.

🐺 ONE BIG THING

Six Lobo men’s tennis players, current and former, made the Mountain West 25th Season Team! In singles, Matt Amgwerd, Arda Azkara, Divan Coetzee, and Johnny Parkes received the honor. The former doubles duo of Ryan Stotland and David Kowalski made the team.
