🔼 On Guard. Jump on in, we’re going portal-ing! University of New Mexico women’s basketball has added Nyah Wilson, a 5’8” transfer guard from Syracuse with two years of eligibility remaining. Just how good is our newest Lobo? We’ll break it down for you…

💪 Built To Last: In her two seasons with the Orange, she played in 40 games including 20 games last season with one start her freshman season.

🛡️ Double Take: As a freshman, Wilson averaged 9.0 minutes per game, scoring in eight games, twice recorded two steals with a steal in five games and recorded multiple assists in six games.

🎯 Stay On Target: During her most recent season at Syracuse, she shot .545 from the floor and averaged 5.7 minutes per game, scoring in eight games with a season high of seven points and was credited with a steal in seven games.

🔼  Sibling Rivalry. New Mexico baseball is meeting New Mexico State on the diamond this evening for an interstate clash between the Lobos and the Aggies. While the standings tell a story of one team at the top of the conference standings and one team that, well, isn’t… the game is played on the field and not in the box score. Here are the keys to the game to keep the Lobos in the winner’s column by night’s end.

  • Keith Jones II is leading the way for the Aggies this season, hitting .363 on the season and making a late-season push for All-Conference honors by year’s end.

  • Kevin Jiminez, Nolan Funke, and Mitch Namie round out the Aggies currently batting over .300 this year. New Mexico State’s offense is a tick below average in the Western Athletic Conference, but it’s the defense (and specifically the Aggie bullpen) that is more so to blame for the team’s win-loss record to date.

  • The Aggies pitchers have combined for a 6.90 ERA this season which is third-worst in their conference. Meanwhile, New Mexico has compiled a team batting average of .337. Not exactly a rock meets hard place situation going down tonight.

🐺 ONE BIG THING

Over the weekend, New Mexico women’s golf hosted a free golf clinic just for women, taught by LPGA/PGA Professional and Lobo head coach Jill Trujillo, along with the Lobo women’s golf team.

All skill levels were welcome, so whether attendants were a long-time enthusiast or a first time golfer, this clinic was an opportunity to grow in your knowledge of the game with personal instruction from experts.

Check out some pictures from the event and make sure you watch head coach Jill Trujillo throwing out the first pitch for softball over the weekend.
