🔼 Our Guy. After a career-day, Aaron Rodriguez was named to the Ray’s 8 List for the week! He kicked two 60-yard punts with one muffed for a -15 yard return. He averaged a career-best 53.7 yards per punt and netted a career-best 58.7 yards per punt. A-Rod is a solid candidate for the Ray Guy Award for the best punter in college football.
🔼 Keep ‘Em Comin’. Lobo running back Andrew Henry was named honorable mention Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Player of the Week! This honors players who either play for a Texas-based university or played for a Texas-based high school. Andrew played for Allen High School in Dallas. He rushed for a season-high 112 yards and a touchdown on Saturday, his third 100-yard game but first as a Lobo.
🔼 But Wait, There’s More. Thought we were done? Nope! The honors keep on coming. Jermarius Lewis was named the Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl Defensive Player of the Week! He’s already been named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week as well. He also had a career-day against Hawaii but one big moment was his sack that forced a fumble that the Lobos recovered. He then intercepted Hawaii’s quarterback on the next two drives.
