Good morning, New Mexico. New Mexico United, The Albuquerque Isotopes, UNM Athletics and the New Mexico Goatheads announced the launch of their Frijoles Fire Relief Drive. The Frijoles Fire is the largest of 2026 in New Mexico, burning over 11,000+. Fans can drop off nonperishable food items, water, hygiene products and other relief items at New Mexico United home games and team store, Albuquerque Isotopes home games and second floor front offices, UNM Athletic events starting this week and the Rio Rancho Event Center. The first round of supplies will be taken up in the UNM Football trailer the week following the UNM Football home opener on September 5th.

🔺 Watch Him! Junior college transfer from College of San Mateo, Albert Tuakalau, has been named to the 2026 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award Watch List. Last year with the College of San Mateo, Tuakalau recorded 20 tackles over nine games, including five tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and a pass breakup. CSM won a JC national title in 2025.

🔺 HOF! Men’s golf coach Jake Harrington will be inducted into the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Hall of Fame 2026 Class. The induction will be on Dec. 7. Over his first three seasons in Albuquerque, he has led UNM to two NCAA Championship appearances, three NCAA Regionals and two top-30 national rankings. The Lobos have won four team titles and seven individual titles during his tenure. The 2023-24 Mountain West Coach of the Year, Harrington has mentored eight All-Mountain West selections.

🔺 Yesterday’s Game. The women’s soccer team took on Gonzaga on Sunday. The Lobos fell 3-1. UNM had 11 shots and three were on goal. Fiona Jenkins scored in the second half. The women are now 1-1 so far this season.
