Today, we have more mic'd up content, a recap of this weekend's scrimmage, & soccer schedule.
Good morning! It’s been a long, hot summer but the soccer team got to have some fun in the sun this weekend. Check out the slip ‘n slide and spike ball action before getting the regular season started. They work hard to play hard!
What all is steeping in today’s Brew?
🏈 Practice makes perfect
⚽️ Lobos stay home
🐺 And much, much more!
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Mic’d Up With 99. Redshirt-junior defensive end Gabriel Lopez was mic’d up in camp this week. He was consistently a problem in the backfield and stuffing runs in Saturday’s scrimmage. This will be his first season as a Lobo, he transferred to New Mexico after three years at Washington State where he appeared in 11 games.
🔼 Practice Makes Perfect. The Lobos had a scrimmage on Saturday that included some big offensive plays and big hits. Christian Ellis broke up some passes and had some strips. Christian Washington had a 60+ yard run to set up a touchdown. Caleb Medford made a big toe-tapping catch before catching a touchdown of his own. Aaron Rodriguez proved why he’s on the Ray Guy watchlist, hitting punts over 65 yards consistently. It was a great day of work for the ‘Bos!
🔼 Home Is Where The Lobos Are. Need the soccer schedule on demand? Hold down the photo above to save it to your device! The Lobo soccer team will be home all week long so you’ll have plenty of chances to catch them in action. They play CSU Pueblo in an exhibition game tonight at 7:00pm before the regular season opener against Texas Tech on Thursday at 7:30pm. They’ll wrap up the week on Sunday when Northern Arizona comes to town at 1:30pm.
🐺 ONE BIG THING
A Night Out. The Cherry & Silver Scholarship Gala is coming up this weekend at The Clyde Downtown Albuquerque and you can reserve your spot here. Frontier/Golden Pride and the Rainosek Family have been the heart and soul of the Gala since the start, click here to see what they had to say about the event. Last year, $585,000 was raised for student-athlete scholarships.
