Lobos Brew 4/27: Rack 'em up

Today, tennis brought in a haul of awards and women's golf made the regionals!

Good morning! This morning, we’re welcoming the newest member of the women’s basketball team, Lara Langermann, all the way from Germany!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Rack ‘Em Up. The Lobos tennis teams brought in a handful of conference awards. Arda Azkarda won Mountain West Player of the Year after going 6-0 in conference play. His doubles partner, Alex Maggs, was named All-Conference in doubles. Aram Noroozian was named All-Conference in singles.

On the women’s side of the court, Katherine Jhang was named All-Conference in singles. She went 12-4 in the regular season, including a 6-2 conference record.

🔼  In The Polls. New Mexico track and field are making moves in the polls this week. The women came in at No. 20 nationally and No. 2 in the Mountain West. The Lobos are No. 1 in the 10,000m event and No. 10 in the 1,500m, 5,000m, and 400m hurdles. The men rank No. 11 in the 400m event.

🔼  Tee Time In Texas. The Mountain West Women’s Golf Champions are headed to San Antonio, Texas for the NCAA Regional Round. The Lobos earned the 7 seed out of 12 teams. This is their 24th NCAA Regional appearance since 1993 and they look to advance to the championships for the first time since 2010. The regional runs May 8-10.

In The Community. The Lobos women’s basketball team joined Lobo Club members at Main Event to show appreciation of their support. Happy Thank You Lobos Week!
