🔼 Reunited At Last. New Mexico is welcoming our newest assistant softball coach Sophie Hannabas. She was a pitcher at Stephen F. Austin when Coach Dickson was their head coach, so this duo will be reuniting. She will serve as the sports team coordinator with director of operations responsibilities. She’ll also assist with the pitching staff. Welcome to the Lobo family!

🔼 Up Next. The next game on the athletics calendar is just a little over a month away! The women’s soccer team takes on UTEP on August 9 at 11:00am for an exhibition game at the UNM Soccer Complex. The regular season kicks off on August 17 against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Last season, the Lobos earned a share of their third straight Mountain West regular-season title with a conference record of 5-1-5. Do you want to become more involved in Lobo women’s soccer? 🔼 Counting Down. As of tomorrow, there will be 56 days until football season. That’s how many points the Lobos scored against Air Force in the 2017 season! New Mexico had 509 yards of offense and 8 touchdowns in that game. Richard McQuarley tied a 21-year-old program record when he rushed for five touchdowns. The Lobos forced two turnovers that both turned into touchdowns that night. New Mexico will not meet Air Force this season.

🐺 ONE BIG THING

Seven On The Board. An amazing seven golfers were named 2022-2023 WGCA All-American Scholars from the Lobos women’s golf team. Anita Saechueng, Chloe Lauer, Lisa Marie Pagliano, Myah McDonald, Maria Caparros Levin, Napat Lertsadwattana, and Lauren Lehigh all received the honors for their efforts in the classroom.
