🔼  King Of The Conference. For the ninth time in his career, Arda Azkara was named Mountain West Player of the Week. He only played one match last week, but it was a big one. The Lobos trailed 3-2 when he fought off two match points in the third-set tiebreaker. His win was key in the Lobo comeback over win over No. 67 Utah State. He’s now 23-0 at No. 1 singles at home.

🔼 History For Hsuan. On the women’s side of the court, Hsuan Huang won Mountain West Player of the Week. She went 4-0 last week and clinched the doubles point in both of New Mexico’s road wins. This is the third-straight week a Lobo has won the award, which has never happened in women’s program history.

🔼 Just Short. Lobo softball battled with San Diego State in both games of yesterday’s doubleheader. Late hits in the sixth innings by the Aztecs gave the Lobos 4-2 and 12-8 losses. Rachael Hathoot led New Mexico with four hits and two runs scored throughout the day. She’s made it on base in 21-straight games. Elizabeth Baylor added three RBI on two hits, including a triple. The Lobos will hit the road to Colorado State on Saturday for two games.

🔼 Pro ‘Bo Achievement. Former Lobo baseball player Justin Slaten collected his first MLB strikeout! He struck out a Mariner to secure the Red Sox 5-1 win over Seattle last weekend. He’s pitched 2.1 innings so far this season and has given up zero earned runs.
