📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Sweep Dreams. This women’s tennis season has been dreamy from the start, and they just keep winning. They got the 4-0 win at Utah State after sweeping the doubles matches and getting three quick singles wins. Sarah O’Connor won her second-straight match-clincher to down the Aggies. The Lobos are the only unbeaten team in conference play. They’re headed back home after a perfect two-week road trip for two matches this week.

🔼 Two In Texas. Lobo track & field took on two meets in Texas at the Texas Relays and the Bobcat Invitational over the weekend. The men’s 4×100 relay crew won the first heat and finished in ninth overall. Elizabeth White finished sixth in the women’s A long jump, improving on her last mark that should put her in the top 25. Annamaria Leszczynska won the women’s 400m hurdles at the Bobcat Invitational and ran a collegiate PR. Brodie Young won the men’s 400m at the same meet with a meet record time of 46.15. The 4×400m crew finished in third.

🔼  Cali Dreaming. The other Lobo track & field members competed in two different meets in California, the Stanford Invitational and the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco. Samuel Field finished the 800m with a lifetime PR time of 1:49.69 in the fifth section to finish second. Dylan Burrows took second in the second section of the 800m. Evans Kiplagat finished the men’s invitational 10k in fifth-place. Sophia McDonnell and Sarah Eckel finished the women’s 800m in 11th and 13th overall. Klara Dess ran another collegiate PR, finishing second in her section of the 1500m. Nicola Jansen made her collegiate debut in the outdoor 10,000m as she finished 10th overall.

🔼 Dynamic Duo. The home run hitting duo of Jake Holland and Reed Spenrath came alive late in the Lobos first game on Saturday. The pair hit back-to-back jacks to get the Lobos on the board against San Diego State. The Lobos plated six runs on five hits and two walks in the last two innings, but it wasn’t enough as they fell 8-6. Game two went far from the Lobos way as they fell 13-0. They’ll be back in action tomorrow at Arizona.
