🔼 Slammed The Door. Lobo baseball swept San Diego State over the weekend and are winners of four-straight! The fun got started on Friday night when the Lobos won 8-4. Chase Weissenborn finished that game with four RBI. The dominance continued on Saturday as the Lobos scored 19 runs to win 19-5. They scored 12 runs over the seventh and eighth innings. Brett Russell shoved seven shutout frames in the win. Sunday was full of drama as the Lobos trailed nearly the entire game. Devon Dixon wasn’t going to allow a loss, he hit a walk-off grand slam in his only at-bat of the game! The Lobos won the finale, 9-7.
🔼 Came Close. The No. 20 men’s golf team came close to bringing home the Mountain West Championship! They fell in a playoff with San Diego State after finishing three rounds tied for first. The Lobos moved from fifth to first on the final day. Albert Boneta tied for fifth-place individually at 4-under. Matthew Watkins tied for seventh, while Bastien Amat and Carson Herron tied for ninth. They’ll wait to hear their NCAA Regional location on Wednesday.
🔼 Saturdays Are For The ‘Bos. Lobo softball spent their weekend at Boise State. They got the win on Saturday after scoring in the first two innings. Elizabeth Baylor went 2-for-3 and drove in the first run. Amber Linton was awarded the win after throwing 5.2 innings of relief. It was the first win at Boise State for the Lobos since 2016. Chloe Yeatts hit her eighth and ninth home runs of the season through the weekend.
🔼 Take The Heat. Lobo track & field closed the regular season with a bang at the Arizona Desert Heat Classic. Dylan Burrows ran an NCAA Qualifying time in the 800m, while Fabian Biondina qualified with his men’s long jump performance. Nicola Jansen won the women’s 1500m at the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford.

🐺 ONE BIG THING
Meet The Newest Lobo. The women’s basketball team added Destinee Hooks to the roster! She’s a sophomore 5’9 guard from Vincennes University. She averaged 21.1 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, 5 assists per game, and 2.9 steals. She was named Freshman of the Year, Player of the Year, and Region 24 Player of the Year.
