🔺 Series Sweep! After beating Utah State 12-6 on Thursday, the softball team secured the series win on Friday with an 11-3 victory in five innings. This marked the program’s first run-rule win over the Aggies since 2015 and the third all-time. Melanie Macias and Jessica DeLeon both went 3-for-4 at the plate. The women won 3-1 on Saturday to finish the Mountain West Schedule 13-12, the most conference wins since 2015. Overall, the Lobos went 26-25, the first time with a winning record since 2015.

🔺 On Their Toes. The track and field team competed at the Arizona Desert Heat Classic and Stanford Payton Jordan Invitational. UNM recorded six new personal bests and a pair of program records. Eva Ngom set a new 400m record with the first sub-52 outdoor performance in school history (51.83) and Taniya Looney improved on her 100m program record with an 11.18 wind-legal season best.

🔺 Feel the Force. The baseball team took on Air Force this past weekend. The men won 9-7 in the series opener. Akili Carris led the team with four hits and three runs. Luke Mansy and Antonio Gianni each had three hits. Ethin Woltz threw 3.1 innings and struck out three batters. The men fell in game two 11-1 and game three 8-4.

🔺 Round 1. The men’s golf team opened the Mountain West Championship on Sunday. New Mexico is in seventh place overall with a team score of 282 (-6). Thayer Plewe leads the team tied for seventh place individually. Wyatt Provence and Emil Albers are tied for 21st individually.
